Position Details

  • Role: Registered Nurse (RN - General)

  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Start Date: 2026-08-24

Responsibilities

  • Labor and delivery management, including assisting with high-risk delivery, assisting with vaginal delivery, and circulating for C-sections
  • Perform procedures and support during deliveries, including sterile vaginal exams and forceps/vacuum extraction
  • Respond to hemorrhage/shock and provide recovery for C-sections
  • Medication and administration support, including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), and terbutaline
  • Provide neonatal care in the delivery room, including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, cord sample collection, ID/security banding, and thermoregulation with radiant warmers
  • Deliver postpartum care, including bladder distension, cesarean section care, couplet care, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and postpartum vaginal delivery support
  • Support postpartum care and procedures, including breastfeeding/lactation support, episiotomy/incisional care, Foley catheter insertion/management, and fundus/lochia/perineum care
  • Manage wound assessment/care and use electric/manual breast pumps
  • Provide pain management support, including epidural anesthesia, general anesthesia, nitrous oxide, opioid administration, and pain assessment & management
  • Maintain professional safety practices with isolation precautions/PPE
  • Support professional topics and skills including vaccine administration
  • Provide newborn care, including newborn assessment, hypoglycemia support, and thermoregulation
  • Support fetal monitoring, including recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and use of external fetal monitoring
  • Provide IV therapy and phlebotomy support, including starting and maintaining IVs
  • Provide antepartum care and procedures, including triage of obstetrical patients
  • Support surgical case/procedures as needed, including tubal ligation

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience REQUIRED in a high acuity & high pace environment
  • If you have less than 2 years of experience, you may be screened for review by the hiring manager
  • Patient ratio experience: 1:1–2
  • Charting system: Epic (required)
  • Certifications: ACLS (required), AWHONN Advanced (required), BLS, NRP
  • Skills required: Nitrous Oxide (required)
  • Starting and maintaining IVs (required)
  • Triage of obstetrical patients (required)
