Responsibilities
- Perform admission criteria reviews (required)
- Coordinate care and support discharge planning
- Conduct continued stay reviews
- Determine medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines
- Complete needs assessments and facilitate order DME
- Develop and support the plan of care
- Complete pre-cert reviews (required)
- Manage prior authorizations (required)
- Utilize InterQual criteria (required)
- Utilize Milliman guidelines (required)
- Support workers’ comp case management (required)
- Apply relevant regulatory and compliance requirements, including CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services)
- Follow Department of Health requirements (required)
- Comply with HIPAA guidelines (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)
- Use ICD-10 coding (required)
- Meet The Joint Commission/ Core Measure/ National Safety Goals (required)
- Support Workers Compensation processes (required)
- Apply acute hospital workflow across required specialties/areas, including Emergency Department (required) and NICU (required), plus PICU (required), Pediatrics (required), Women’s Services (required)
- Be prepared to support ICU and MS as part of acute hospital coverage
Requirements
- 2 years of acute care hospital experience (HARDSTOP requirement)
- Charting system: Epic (required)
- Certifications: ACM-RN (required)
- AK RN License
- BLS (required)
- Community Hospital experience (preferred)
- LTAC experience (preferred)
- Trauma Level II experience (preferred)
