Responsibilities
- Perform admission criteria reviews (required)
- Coordinate care across the continuum
- Conduct continued stay reviews
- Determine medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines
- Complete needs assessment and coordinate/order DME as needed
- Develop and follow the plan of care
- Complete pre-cert reviews (required)
- Submit prior authorizations (required)
- Utilize InterQual criteria (required)
- Utilize Milliman guidelines (required)
- Support workers’ comp case management (required)
- Apply HIPAA guidelines (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)
- Use ICD-10 coding (required)
- Apply CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) and Department of Health standards (required)
- Meet The Joint Commission / Core Measure / National Safety Goals (required)
- Support Workers Compensation (required)
- Work within acute hospital settings, including Emergency Department (required) and NICU (required)
- Provide case management support across ICU, MS, Pediatrics (required), PICU (required), and Women’s Services (required)
Requirements
- 2 years of experience in acute care hospital settings (hardstop)
- Required charting system: Epic
- Certifications: ACM-RN (required)
- AK RN License
- BLS (required)
- Admission criteria experience (required) and pre-cert / prior authorization experience (required)
- Experience using ICD-10 coding (required)
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
- Experience supporting Workers Compensation (required)
- Acute hospital experience within Emergency Department (required)
- Acute hospital experience within NICU (required)
- Acute hospital experience within Pediatrics (required)
- Acute hospital experience within PICU (required)
- Acute hospital experience within Women’s Services (required)
