Join our team as a Registered Nurse on a 26-week NICU travel contract in Lubbock, TX. This night-shift opportunity offers 36 guaranteed hours per week and supports neonatal care across a specialized range of patient needs.

Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for neonates in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Monitor patient status, respond to changing clinical needs, and collaborate with the care team.
- Support families through education, communication, and participation in the plan of care.
- Document patient care accurately in the designated electronic health record.
Requirements
- Certifications: BLS and NRP Advanced
- Charting system experience: Epic required
- IV therapy: administration of blood and blood products; arterial line management; central line blood draw; central line/implanted line care; starting and maintaining IVs; UAC (umbilical artery catheter); UVC (umbilical vein catheter)
- Medications and emergency medications: anti-seizure medications; antibiotics/antivirals; IV vasopressors; neonatal dosage calculations; steroids; surfactants
- Professional topics and skills: APGAR scoring; developmental care; patient/family teaching; phlebotomy; thermoregulation
- Neurologic care: assist with lumbar puncture; ICP monitoring; neonatal abstinence syndrome; seizure disorders; therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket); ventricular peritoneal (VP) shunts
- Endocrine and metabolic care: blood glucose monitoring; hyperbilirubinemia; insulin administration; phototherapy
- Gastrointestinal care: breastfeeding support/handling of breast milk; colostomy/ileostomy management and care; feedings (bottle, breast, gavage); gastroschisis/omphalocele; necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC); placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes; post-abdominal surgery
- Respiratory care: bubble CPAP; high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC); high-frequency ventilation; management of chest tubes; meconium aspiration; nitric oxide (iNO); oscillators; oxygen delivery systems; respiratory distress syndrome; suctioning (ETT, NT); tracheostomy care and management; ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Cardiovascular care: invasive hemodynamic monitoring required; telemetry for on-unit monitoring
- Infectious disease care: isolation precautions/PPE; neonatal sepsis; sepsis workup
- Work setting experience: Level 1 Nursery; NICU II; NICU III; NICU IV required
- Patient types: neonates under 24–28 weeks required; neonates over 34 weeks; neonates 29–34 weeks
