Responsibilities
Deliver safe, timely emergency nursing care; assess and prioritize patients; collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team; administer treatments and medications according to orders; monitor patient responses; document care accurately; and support a safe, compassionate environment for patients and families.

Clinical skills and experience:
- Patient care experience with pediatric abdominal pain, asthma, burns, epiglottitis, head injury, hyperglycemia, identification and reporting of neglect or abuse, infection, mental and behavioral health conditions, near drowning, poison ingestion, respiratory infection, seizures, sickle cell crisis, skin disorders, spinal cord injury, and urinary tract infection (required)
- Acute psychosis, drug overdose, management of violent behavior, psychiatric holds, and suicidal patients
- BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, chest tube insertion and management, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), and intubation
- Blood product administration, phlebotomy, and starting and maintaining IVs
- Continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Cerebrovascular accident (CVA), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring (required), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- General Emergency Department experience in a combined adult/pediatric setting
- Experience supporting care in a STEMI-certified facility and a stroke-certified facility
- Gunshot wounds and traumatic amputation care (required)
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
- Isolation precautions/PPE and triage
- Orthopedic trauma care

Experience
- Applicants with 1 year of experience may be considered.
