Join our team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery/Postpartum in Everett, WA. This 13-week travel contract offers night shifts, guaranteed weekly hours, and the opportunity to support patients and newborns across the perinatal care continuum.

Responsibilities
Provide attentive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care. Collaborate with the care team, recognize changing maternal and fetal conditions, support safe deliveries, provide patient and family education, and promote a safe, respectful care environment.
Requirements
Follow AWHONN Standards. Required certifications include ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP, and Relias Fetal Monitoring or AWHONN.
- IV therapy and phlebotomy: Administration of blood and blood products; drawing venous blood; starting and maintaining IVs.
- Labor and delivery management: Amnioinfusion; assisting with high-risk delivery; assisting with vaginal delivery; circulating for C-section; forceps/vacuum extraction; hemorrhage/shock; recovering C-section; sterile vaginal exam.
- Work settings: Antepartum; a setting with 200-300 births per month; high-risk antepartum; Labor and Delivery; LDRP; Mother/Baby.
- Medication and administration: Antihypertensives; insulin drips; magnesium sulfate therapy; Pitocin (oxytocin); terbutaline.
- Neonatal care in the delivery room: APGAR scores; Baby Nurse (“Baby Catcher”); collecting cord samples; ID/security banding; neonatal resuscitation; radiant warmers/thermoregulation.
- Newborn care: Assisting with circumcision and assessing the site post-op; cord care; discharge teaching to parents; neonatal abstinence syndrome; newborn assessment; newborn hypoglycemia; phototherapy; thermoregulation.
- Antepartum care and procedures: Assisting with sterile speculum exam for effacement, dilation, station, and presentation; NST (Non Stress Tests); reflex checks, edema assessment, and clonus; sterile vaginal exam; use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring).
- Postpartum patient care: Bladder distension; Cesarean Section; Couplet Care; multiple births; postpartum hemorrhage; pregnancy-induced hypertension; vaginal delivery.
- Postpartum care and procedures: Breastfeeding support/lactation support; Foley catheter insertion/management; fundus, lochia, and perineum care; use of electric/manual breast pump.
- Pain management: Epidural anesthesia; general anesthesia; nitrous oxide; pain assessment and management.
- Care of patients with: HELLP Syndrome; multiple gestation; pre-eclampsia/eclampsia; premature rupture of membranes; preterm labor; VBAC management/trial of labor.
- Professional topics and skills: Isolation precautions/PPE; vaccine administration.
- Fetal monitoring: Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns; use of external fetal monitoring; use of internal fetal monitoring.
