Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care throughout the perinatal care experience.
- Assess patient needs, monitor clinical status, and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support coordinated patient care.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Promote patient education, comfort, safety, and effective communication with patients and families.
Requirements
- ACLS certification required.
- AWHONN Intermediate certification.
- BLS certification.
- FHM certification.
- NRP certification.
- IV therapy and phlebotomy, including administration of blood and blood products, maintaining central lines such as CVCs and PICCs, and starting and maintaining IVs.
- Medication administration skills, including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy.
- Labor and delivery management skills, including assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating for C-sections, recovering C-sections, and performing sterile vaginal exams.
- Experience with high-risk antepartum care, labor and delivery, and LDRP settings; the assignment setting includes approximately 200–300 births per month.
- Isolation precautions and PPE.
- Pain assessment and management, including use of IV PCA.
- Triage of obstetrical patients.
- Use of IUPC placement and calibration.
- Epic experience.

Experience
- At least 2 years of nursing experience with LDRP, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
- Candidates with less than 2 years of experience will not be considered.
- Previous travel nursing experience is not required.
