About This Position

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for neonatal patients in a NICU setting.
  • Monitor patient condition, respond to changes, and collaborate with the care team.
  • Administer treatments and medications according to established clinical orders and safety standards.
  • Document patient care accurately and support continuity of care throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current NRP certification.
  • Experience with a 1:2 patient ratio.
  • Epic charting experience is preferred.
  • IV therapy, including administration of blood and blood products.
  • Central line and implanted line care.
  • Feedings by bottle, breast, and gavage.
  • Placement and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes.
  • Neonatal dosage calculations.
  • Care of neonates under 24–28 weeks, neonates over 34 weeks, and neonates 29–34 weeks.
  • Experience working in NICU III and NICU IV settings.
  • Therapeutic hypothermia, including cooling blanket management.
  • Ventilator management using AC, PC, SIMV, CPAP, BiPAP, and PEEP.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of Level III NICU experience, or 2 years of Level IV NICU experience, is required for the auto-offer process. Less experience does not meet the screening requirement.
  • Experience with a 1:2 patient ratio.
  • Travel nursing experience is not required.
