Responsibilities
- Provide safe, attentive nursing care to neonatal and pediatric patients during transport assignments.
- Assess patient status, implement ordered interventions, and monitor clinical changes throughout care and transport.
- Collaborate with the transport team and other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow applicable safety, infection prevention, and transport procedures.
Requirements
- Epic charting experience required
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP certification
- Current PALS certification
- End-tidal CO2 monitoring
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Care of ventilated patients
- Care and maintenance of acute airways
- High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
- Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Management of chest tubes
- Suctioning, including ETT and NT
- Tracheostomy care
- Ventilator management
- Anti-seizure medications
- Continuous sedation
- IV vasopressors
- Pediatric dosage calculations
- Arterial line management
- Central line blood draws
- Phlebotomy
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Hyperthermia management
- Isolation precautions and PPE
- Hypothermia protocol
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias
- NG tube insertion and management
- NICU experience required
