Requirements & Skills
- Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist with a focus on cardiovascular or CVOR cases
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile techniques, and operating room protocols
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and provide critical intraoperative support
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Effective communication skills to collaborate efficiently with OR team members
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred (e.g., CST)
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring a sterile and orderly environment
- Assist during cardiovascular surgeries by passing instruments and handling equipment as directed by the surgical team
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols throughout surgical procedures
- Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment related to cardiovascular procedures
- Ensure proper handling and counting of surgical instruments and sponges before, during, and after procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists to deliver seamless patient care
- Document surgical activities accurately and report any concerns promptly
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is highly preferred
- Previous experience in a cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) setting strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and surgical procedures
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive hourly wage: $62.00 - $73.00
