Requirements and Skills
- Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Wisconsin
- Demonstrated experience in medical-surgical nursing and rehabilitation patient care
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
- Proficient in electronic medical records and documentation processes
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients recovering from surgery or managing complex medical conditions on the Med Surg Rehab unit
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and coordinate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely, adhering to established protocols and policies
- Monitor patient progress and document findings accurately in the medical record
- Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes
- Support patient rehabilitation goals through skilled nursing interventions and advocacy
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in Wisconsin
- Prior experience in medical-surgical nursing and rehabilitation care preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory
- Strong organizational skills with a commitment to patient safety and quality care
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic healthcare setting
