About This Position

Join our team as a Registered Nurse in Spokane, WA for a 16-week travel/contract assignment on the Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00) with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care for neuro stepdown patients and support post- and pre-operative workflows.
  • Manage respiratory support, including BiPAP/CPAP and chest tubes using Emerson/PleurEvac.
  • Support care for neurological and psychiatric conditions including craniotomy, CVA (cerebrovascular accident), spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias in coordination with the care team.
  • Administer and monitor procedural sedation in accordance with established protocols.
  • Document assessments and care using Epic.
  • Maintain patient flow and clinical readiness in telemetry/neuro stepdown settings, supporting a typical patient ratio of 1:4–5.

Requirements

  • 1 year of RN experience
  • Patient ratio experience: 1:4–5
  • Charting system: Epic (required)
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • NIHSS certification
  • Experience with neuro stepdown and telemetry work settings
  • Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias
  • Knowledge/experience managing BiPAP/CPAP and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
  • Ability to provide care for craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
  • Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring
  • Travel experience: not required
