Responsibilities
Support safe, organized sterile processing operations by preparing surgical supplies, maintaining accurate equipment documentation, following established infection prevention procedures, and helping ensure instruments and equipment are ready for scheduled procedures.
Requirements
- Certifications: CBSPD and IAHCSMM/HSPA
- Charting system experience: Any charting system required
- Travel experience is not required
- Work setting experience: Acute hospital OR
- Decontamination and disinfection: Cleaning equipment including crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps; high-level disinfection (HLD); use of washers/sterilizers
- Preparation and handling: Case cart preparation; proper selection of wrapping materials; sterilization wrapping procedures
- Processing: Sets/trays assembly
- Professional knowledge and skills: Equipment documentation
- Specialty equipment processing: Ear/Nose/Throat, general, OB/GYN, orthopedics, plastics, and urology
- Sterilization: Biological indicators, chemical indicators, steam sterilization testing/monitoring, and immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS)
