Join our team as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery in Seattle, WA—take on a 26-week travel/contract assignment with guaranteed 36 hours/week on nights (4x12), starting 2026-09-14.
Position Details

Responsibilities
- Labor and Delivery management, including high-risk delivery support
- Assist with vaginal delivery and circulate for C-section
- Support operative vaginal delivery (forceps/vacuum extraction)
- Respond to hemorrhage/shock and recover C-section as assigned
- Perform sterile vaginal exams as appropriate
- Medication & administration support, including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and Pitocin (oxytocin)
- Administer terbutaline when clinically indicated
- Provide neonatal care in the delivery room, including APGAR scores and neonatal resuscitation support
- Perform “baby catcher”/delivery room newborn assistance, including cord sample collection and ID/security banding
- Utilize radiant warmers/thermoregulation for newborn stabilization
- Provide postpartum care, including bladder distension, couplet care, multiple births, cesarean section postpartum care, and management support for postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Support postpartum care for vaginal delivery and postpartum procedures (breastfeeding/lactation support, episiotomy/incisional care, and foley catheter insertion/management)
- Manage fundus/lochia/perineum care and support wound assessment/care
- Use electric/manual breast pump as needed
- Support pain management, including epidural and general anesthesia support and nitrous oxide administration; assist with opioid administration and pain assessment & management
- Maintain infection control practices including isolation precautions/PPE
- Support vaccine administration as assigned
- Support newborn assessment, including newborn hypoglycemia recognition and thermoregulation
- Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and recognize/treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns; use external fetal monitoring
- Provide IV therapy/Phlebotomy support, including starting and maintaining IVs
- Provide antepartum triage of obstetrical patients
- Support surgical cases/procedures including tubal ligation as assigned
- Work setting includes high risk antepartum care
Requirements
- 3 years of experience REQUIRED in a high acuity & high pace environment
- If less than 2 years of experience: be prepared for screening for manager review and decision
- ACLS (required)
- AWHONN Advanced (required)
- BLS
- NRP
- Epic charting experience required
- Patient ratio experience: 1:1–2
- Required skills include starting and maintaining IVs
- Required clinical experience includes triage of obstetrical patients
- Nitrous oxide required
