About This Position
Join our team as a Registered Nurse (RN - General) for a Travel/Contract role in Seattle, WA—night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00–7:30) with guaranteed 36 hours/week for a 26-week assignment starting 2026-09-14. Responsibilities
- Manage Labor and Delivery care, including amnioinfusion and assisting with high-risk delivery
- Support vaginal deliveries and assist with forceps/vacuum extraction
- Circulate for C-section and provide recovery for C-section
- Perform sterile vaginal exams
- Respond to hemorrhage/shock and support safe maternal stabilization
- Administer and manage labor-related medications, including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, pitocin (oxytocin), and terbutaline
- Provide neonatal care in the delivery room, including APGAR scores, neonatal resuscitation, radiant warmers/thermoregulation, and ID/security banding
- Assist as the baby nurse (“baby catcher”), and collect cord samples
- Deliver postpartum care, including couplet care, multiple births care, vaginal delivery care, cesarean section care, postpartum hemorrhage care, and pregnancy-induced hypertension care
- Provide postpartum procedures support, including breastfeeding/lactation support, episiotomy/incisional care, foley catheter insertion/management, and fundus/lochia/perineum care
- Support breastfeeding via electric/manual breast pump use
- Complete wound assessment/care
- Support pain management, including epidural anesthesia, general anesthesia, and nitrous oxide administration
- Assess and manage pain, including opioid pain management
- Uphold high-risk antepartum nursing responsibilities
- Follow isolation precautions/PPE and support vaccine administration when needed
- Complete newborn care tasks such as newborn assessment, newborn hypoglycemia support, and thermoregulation
- Monitor and respond to fetal heart rate patterns, using external fetal monitoring
- Start and maintain IVs
- Triage obstetrical patients as needed
- Support surgical case needs, including tubal ligation
Requirements
- 3 years of experience REQUIRED in high acuity & high pace environment
- If less than 2 years of experience: SCREEN to manager for review and decision
- Patient ratio experience: 1:1–2
- Charting system: Epic (required)
- ACLS (required)
- AWHONN Advanced (required)
- BLS
- NRP
- Required neonatal/pain workflow including: nitrous oxide (required)
- IV therapy/Phlebotomy: starting and maintaining IVs (required)
- Antepartum care: triage of obstetrical patients (required)
