Responsibilities
- Provide IV therapy and/or phlebotomy as needed
- Administer blood and blood products
- Maintain central lines (CVC / PICC)
- Administer anticoagulation therapy
- Administer antihypertensives
- Manage insulin drips
- Provide magnesium sulfate therapy
- Assist with high-risk delivery support
- Circulate for C-section
- Recover C-section patients
- Perform sterile vaginal exams
- Support labor pain management, including epidural anesthesia
- Complete pain assessment and management
- Use PCA (IV) appropriately
- Follow isolation precautions/PPE
- Perform triage of obstetrical patients
- Support fetal monitoring using IUPC (intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration
- Complete wound assessment/care for postpartum patients
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (screen for less than 2 years)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Teaching hospital work setting experience required
- ACLS (required)
- AWHONN Intermediate
- BLS
- FHM
- NRP
- Travel experience: not required (minimum of 2 years of experience)
