  • Hourly pay: $61.00–$72.00

Responsibilities

  • Manage labor and delivery including amnioinfusion, assisting with high-risk delivery, assisting with vaginal delivery, circulating for C-section, assisting with forceps/vacuum extraction, managing hemorrhage/shock, and recovering C-section patients
  • Perform sterile vaginal exams
  • Support medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), and terbutaline
  • Provide neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scores, neonatal assessment/“baby catcher” support, collecting cord samples, ID/security banding, neonatal resuscitation, and radiant warmers/thermoregulation
  • Deliver postpartum care including bladder distension, cesarean section care, couplet care, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and vaginal delivery support
  • Perform postpartum care and procedures including breastfeeding/lactation support, episiotomy/incisional care, Foley catheter insertion/management, and fundus/lochia/perineum care
  • Use electric/manual breast pumps as needed
  • Complete wound assessment/care and pain assessment/management
  • Assist with pain management including epidural anesthesia, general anesthesia, and nitrous oxide (required), plus opioid administration/support
  • Follow isolation precautions/PPE and support vaccine administration as required
  • Provide newborn care including newborn assessment, newborn hypoglycemia support, and thermoregulation
  • Monitor and respond to fetal heart rate patterns using external fetal monitoring, including recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Start and maintain IVs (required)
  • Perform antepartum care tasks including triage of obstetrical patients (required)
  • Support surgical cases/procedures including tubal ligation

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience REQUIRED in a high acuity & high pace environment
  • If less than 2 years, screen to manager for review and decision
  • Patient ratio experience: 1:1–2
  • Charting system experience: Required (Epic)
  • ACLS (required)
  • AWHONN Advanced (required)
  • BLS
  • NRP
  • Travel experience required: No
  • Skills required: nitrous oxide (required)
