About This Position
Take on a 13-week Travel Registered Nurse contract in Seattle, WA, supporting the E Surgical Telemetry unit on a consistent night schedule. Responsibilities
Provide safe, compassionate nursing care throughout the assignment while assessing patients, administering treatments, collaborating with the care team, documenting care, and responding to changing clinical needs. Support effective communication, patient education, infection prevention, and continuity of care during each night shift.
Requirements
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
Charting: Epic required.
IV therapy and phlebotomy:
- Accessing and managing ports
- Blood product administration
- Central line care and management
- Phlebotomy
- PICC line management
- Starting and maintaining IVs
Work settings:
- Cardiac telemetry
- MS/Tele
- PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown
- Telemetry
Respiratory:
- Chest tubes, including Emerson and PleurEvac
- Nasal cannula
- Non-invasive airway management
- Oxygen administration
- Oxygen tanks
Neurological and psychiatric: Care for patients with CVA (cerebrovascular accident).
Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management.
Medications:
- Heparin protocols
- Manage cardiac drips without titration
- Manage vasoactive drips without titration
- PCA
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Titrate cardiac drips
- Titrate vasoactive drips
Cardiac monitoring and emergency response:
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Telemetry: on-unit monitoring
- Telemetry: remote monitoring
Professional skills: Isolation precautions and PPE, wound care, and wound vac management.
Endocrine and metabolic: IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips.
Cardiovascular:
- Post-cardiac angiogram care
- Post-MI care
- Pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care
- Pre- and post-cardiac surgery care
- Sheath removal
- TR Band management
Genitourinary and renal: Pre- and post-hemodialysis management and renal failure care.
Additional clinical skills: Surgical drains, post-open-heart experience, and sternal precautions after open-heart surgery.

Experience
- At least 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required.
- Travel nursing experience required; candidates without travel experience will not be considered.
- Experience with a 1:4 patient ratio required.
- Teaching hospital experience preferred.
- Community hospital experience preferred.
- VAD experience optional.
- TAVR experience optional.
