About This Position

Join Quick2Hire as a Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse in Anchorage, AK. This 13-week contract offers day shifts from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m., scheduled three 12-hour shifts weekly, beginning October 5, 2026.

Responsibilities

Provide perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical cases. Support safe surgical preparation, intraoperative workflows, patient monitoring, specimen handling, infection prevention, procedural time-outs, and postoperative care according to professional standards and applicable protocols.

Requirements

Certifications: ACLS (required), BLS, and CNOR (required).

Charting: Experience with any charting system is required.

Vascular surgery: Abdominal aortic aneurysm repair; aortocaval fistula repair; aortoenteric fistula repair; arteriovenous fistula repair; atherectomy; carotid angioplasty; carotid artery stenting; femoral popliteal bypass graft; scrub vascular surgery (required).

Gynecology: Abdominal or vaginal hysterectomy; anterior/posterior repair (colporrhaphy); bilateral tubal ligation; C-sections; dilation and curettage; laparoscopic-assisted gynecological procedures; scrub gynecology surgery (required); therapeutic abortion; vulvectomy.

Professional knowledge and skills: Administration of blood and blood products; cardiac monitoring; conscious sedation monitoring; infection control; laser safety; radiation safety; specimen handling and labeling; starting peripheral IVs; universal protocol/time-out procedure; urinary bladder catheterization; wound management.

Oral surgery: Adult dentistry; closed reduction of facial fractures and wiring; repair of fractured jaws, mandibular and zygomatic; scrub oral surgery (required); temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthroplasty.

Neurology: ALIF (anterior lumbar interbody fusion); anterior cervical fusion; cervical fusions; craniotomy; insertion of VP shunt; kyphoplasty; laminectomy/discectomy; lumbar fusion; MIS (minimally invasive surgery); scrub neurology surgery (required); XLIF (extreme lateral interbody fusion).

Trauma: Amputations; burns; gunshot or stab wounds; MVA (multiple injuries); scrub trauma surgery (required).

Orthopedic surgery: Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction; arthroscopy; arthrotomy; carpal tunnel release; closed reduction of fractures; laminectomy/discectomy; open reduction of fractures; ortho/spine; scrub arthroscopic surgeries (required); scrub orthopedic surgeries (required); spinal fusion; total joint replacement.

Pediatric orthopedic surgery: Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (required); arthroscopy of the knee, shoulder, and wrist (required); arthrotomy (required); closed reduction of fractures (required); open reduction of fractures (required); scrub pediatric orthopedic surgery (required); spinal fusion/spinal surgery with instrumentation (required).

General surgery: Appendectomy; cholecystectomy; colon resection; inguinal or umbilical hernia repair; laparoscopic-assisted procedures; mastectomy; scrub general surgery (required); partial or total thyroidectomy; Whipple procedure.

Pediatric general surgery: Appendectomy (required).

Experience

  • At least 2 years of nursing experience required.
  • Experience with a 1:1 patient ratio required.
  • Trauma Level II experience required.
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred.
  • Travel nursing experience is not required for candidates with at least 2 years of experience.
