Responsibilities
Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for patients in a progressive care and stepdown environment. Monitor patient status, support clinical interventions, collaborate with the care team, and respond promptly to changes in condition and emergency events.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse licensure eligible for practice in Washington
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Epic charting experience
- Patient care experience with ratios of 1:4–5
- BiPAP/CPAP management; chest tubes using Emerson/PleurEvac; high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC); interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs); nasal cannula; non-invasive airway management; oxygen administration; oxygen tanks; and tracheostomy care and management
- Blood product administration; central line care and management; peripheral line care and management; PICC line management; and starting and maintaining IVs
- Cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and telemetry experience
- Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI); pre- and post-hemodialysis management; renal failure; renal transplant; and TURP
- CVA (cerebrovascular accident), seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, and traumatic brain injury
- Epidural analgesia; heparin protocols; management of cardiac drips without titration; management of vasoactive drips without titration; PCA; titration of cardiac drips; and titration of vasoactive drips
- Feeding tube care and management
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias; telemetry with on-unit monitoring; telemetry with remote monitoring; and use of rapid response and code teams
- Isolation precautions and PPE; wound care; and wound vac experience
- IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
- Pacemakers, temporary and permanent; post-cardiac angiogram care; post-MI care; pre- and post-cardiac catheterization; pre- and post-cardiac surgery; sheath removal; and TR Band management
- Skin grafts and surgical drains

Experience
